Discrimination.

In August, the town hall of Vukovar passed to eliminate the public posters written in Serbian alphabet and to demand a special request and the payment of a rate to receive official communications in Serbian, in spite of the fact that 34 % of the inhabitants was from etnia Serbian. The social exclusion and the discrimination of the population romaní continued being generalized, especially in the access to a suitable housing and to opportunities of employment.

Freedom of expression

In June, Osijek's local court confirmed the judgment of the Municipal Court of Zagreb and declared that the lesbians' organization, gays, bisexuals and intersexual Pride of Zagreb had damaged the honor and the dignity of one ex-employee of the Croatian broadcast television on having included her in the list of candidates for the most homophobic person of 2013.

International justice

In May, the Parliament approved the law of the rights of the victims of sexual violence in the war, which was establishing them only a indemnification of 13.000 Euros and a monthly payment of 328 Euros for the surviving persons of Croatian nationality of sexual violence in time of war, which they would have in addition right when they receive assistance and medical rehabilitation, as well as psychological support.

Nevertheless, Croatia have not adopted still a legislative integral frame to regulate the situation of all the civil victims of war crimes and their access to a repair. Laws of the refugee persons and migrantes

At the end of the year, more than 550.000 refugees and migrantes had crossed Croatia towards other countries of the European Union with the assistance of the state authorities, which provided free transport..

The War (1991-1995)

The War of Croatia began on the 31st of march of 1991 and ended on the 7th of august of 1995. The motive of the war, was that Croatia declared independence from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. After four years of war, Croatia finally won!

That lead to other things to happen like:

Croatian forces regain control over most of RSK-held Croatian territory. Croatian forces advance into Bosnia and Herzegovina which leads to the eventual end of the Bosnian War.
